The product suit containing all the dashboards used in monitoring and decision making for all the operations in Delhivery.
Being a firm which is driven totally by the on field operations pan India, It became vey critical to monitor the performance of various centres/facilities that we have. Initially we had multiple softwares with different "web addresses" to access the applications, at some point of time, it became difficult to keep transiting from one application to other app to keep the track of the on field operations. Also this dashboard suit being hosted at one place, provides the opportunity and a platform to come up with much more intelligent and action driven dashboards.
Reduce the cognitive load in remembering various web address to multiple panels
Reduce the effort in logging into multiple panels to view performance
To target a consistent UI
Optimise the performance
A change from informative to action driven dashboards
How did we approach this?
The path to solving the issues was not straight. Had to change and rebuild many things. We had to reiterate the whole architecture ranging from defining user rights, creating permissions to various users, rebuild the UI to match the company branding and design guidelines. Giving brief explanations to all below.
1. Create a Single login platform
Instead of logging into multiple apps with multiple username & passwords, we made the Single login system based on the custom user management system built for delhivery.
Internal clients get access to the apps they have permissions by logging in using the company email id and password.
Easy transition from one app to other from the "menu" drop-down in the app bar associated with all the products.
2. Birth of "eye.delhivery.com"
Since there were too many dashboards used across the organisation, we consolidated the list and identified the top used(impactful) dashboards. Made them from scratch as a different product suite which respective users can view at any time.
3. From Informative to Action driven
Though the existing dashboards provide related info to the users. It never directed the users in performing the next actions regarding the critical issues.
For this, we created Separated widgets for all use cases which can be combined to provide the dashboards for any use cases.
Also a separate section of Alerts and pending actions, which would define the critical issues happening on the field and the user can take respective actions based on it.
