VMT Dashboard

 

This is the dashboard designed for the vendor management team in delhivery, who monitors the performance of the 3rd party vendors for lastmile operations.

The requirements:

  • Monitor daily performance of the 3rd party vendors.​

  • Monitor the daily load handled by the 3rd party centres.

  • Call vendors in case of any delays in IST (Inter stock transfer)

  • Share the appropriate reports with the internal team in delhivery.

After studying the current user requirements, the existing workflow was refined and the new work (above) was defined.

Work Flow
Initial Wireframe Discussions

Based on the new workflow, different use cases were considered and the discussions were done to see which of the functionalities would suit the best for the scenarios. 

 

The initial wireframes were discussed with the end users and their feedbacks were analysed.

Considering the feedbacks received from the users, the detailed wireframes were made after multiple iterations.

This is were the content to be shown to the user got fixed.

Second & Third iterations

The dashboard consists of different cards containing individual partner summary each.  The different icons becomes visible only in the case of pending handovers (delays)/ when the centre load becomes more than what it can handle. The cards can be sorted by pending load & stressed centres based on user input. For seeing the details of any partner the user can open the cards by clicking on it.

Feedbacks and issues:
  • Not more than 4 cards could be accommodated on the screen at a single time

  • The comparison between different partners was difficult

  • Too much data shown to user at a moment ( increase in cognitive load)

  • Not showing the delays

  • Colour coding for high priority shipments was difficult for the user to process

  • On clicking on the cards, the user is being forced to the same card layout showing centre details, which some of them found confusing.

  • This dashboard would be difficult for me to use when there are more partners added to the user's profile.

  • The field of view is less

  • The cards are very congested

Refinements

Once the feedbacks were consolidated, We sat along with the PM and other stakeholders to prioritise between each of the feedbacks and issues that we have collected. Based on the discussion, the final set of requirements were finalised.

 

Again sat with coffee, music, pen and paper to sketch out the next set of workflows and wireframes. These sketches were tested with the users at every stage ensure the quality. Once the requirements got frozen, the final design was taken further for development.
